We, Pablo Almansa, Emily Lau and Nuria González, take part of a Master's degree about bilingual education. Together our classmates, we were asked by the teacher María Jesús García (@mjgsm) to tackle an e-Project in small groups at the beginning of February.

We were giving eight challenges about different topics about music and art, literacy, science, etc. and in groups of three-four people we have been working on it for three months.

On April the 27th, altogether, and thanks to our teacher (@mjgsm), we were given the opportunity of share our e-Projects with the world in the 7th Virtual Round Table Conference, and here you have some aspects we wanted to highlight:

They have been developing stories to entertain, to teach and to learn through them. The kinds of activities they have been doing are to encourage children in the teaching/learning process and they have done activities such as podcast or origami stories and they have dedicated a special place in their blog to provide kids with stories.

They have been working on the objective of combining English and Science through different challenges. The vast majority of these challenges are based on different ways of doing experiments in a funny and motivating way. As well, they consider they have learn not only how to teach but also a new way of teaching.

Since the beginning of the e-Project, they wanted to make music accessible to students and help them develop their musical skills. With this in mind, they started creating videos and tutorials to improve their skills and to show them how to use some tools related to music. They have also created a webmix and a movie tráiler, among other sources, to show visually their e-Project.

This group use ICT to familiarize kids with art and music. They wanted to create an intercultural atmosphere creating online activities about how to dance tradicional dances from different countries such as China, Egypt, New Zeland, Brazil, etc.
They also participated in a radio interview in which they could explain their e-Project.

This e-Project was created with the objective of celebrating two anniversaries: El Greco and Platero and I. To do that, they have used lots of different tools and apps such as comics and videos to get it. Through these kinds of activities they have tried to mix Juan Ramón Jiménez's poetry with El Greco's paintings.

The objective of this group was to give learners an active role in the teaching/learning process. To do that, they created different resources to encourage children to express themselves. They show them how to do an interview, how to create newspapers, how to be good journalists, etc.
In fact, their slogan is: building up, critical minds!

They have created a mobile e-library to keep stories for children. They have recorded lots of podcasts for children such as: Fat cat on a map, Miss Cloud, the prettiest one or Shark in the park, among others. They pretend their webpage to be a tool for teachers and students.

Putting the pedagody in the technology. By Joe Dale.

After assisting to the speach of Joe Dale in the 7th Virtual Round Table Web Conference in Language Learning Technologies ICTs We took some notes that we consider that are essential to take into account by the time we use ICTs for MFL classes.

To start with, ICTs are a current changer factor of the educational system. They offger a wide set of opportunities to develop learning in our students. Later on, J.Dale played a very interesting video that summarizes the features of Growth Mindset vs The Fixed Mindset that you can see here. In summary the Growth mindset defends that intelligence can be developed and it is not static. We as humans learn from challenging situations and critical feedback.

So, How can we use technologies to develop our students cognitive abilities?. First of all it is important not to see the use of technologies as an outcome. ICTs are another tool to lear which are useful to motivate students and get their attention. This said, the best way of combining ICTs with our teaching process will be following the 4Cs rules which are:

-Developing Collaboration.
-Developing Communication.
-Developing Creativity.
-Developing Critical Thinking.

Finally, although there were much more interesting ideas during the rest of the presentation it must be considered that by the time integrate ICTs the aims of this integration must be planned and purposeful, They must be part of the class routine, suppor curricular goals and learning aims and obviously engage students with the content.

Using multimedia resources for stories.

Welcome to visit our blog and see what activities we have created for our project!

1. Crossword

2. Jeopardy

(By Pablo)

Hi there, this is a Jeopardy board I did to work on teams and generate discussion between students. This game promotes reading comprehension and it is useful to work on how to do questions in English. You can use this Jeopardy at any level, although you might need to do some scaffolding first, especially with young learnes. You will access to the link here.

You can create your own one at www.jeopardylabs.com

(By Nuria)

This game is for the first cycle of Primary Education.
It is a kind of hangman, so the game consists of guessing the hidden word from saying the letter of the alphabet. Concretely, the words of this game are related to “Goldilocks and the three bears”.
If it is not avalible to see directly, please visit http://www.wordduck.com and click on "play hangman",then input "NNGG"

4. Quiz of the "Legend of Nian"

(By Emily)

This is an online quiz designed on the website Quizbean
It is easy for teachers to make a quiz of any content and share it easily.
This quiz is depended on the Chinese story "the legend of Nian", suitable for the second cycle.

*You need to download the file to play.

This game is for the second cycle of Primary Education.
It consists of guessing the title of the tale that a given text (extracted from a fairy tale) is talking about.
To do this activity is necessary to work first on all the tales we have been posted in our blog because some of these stories are fairy tales but others are invented stories.
The tales this game work on are: “Mulan and Hercules”, “Goldilocks and the three bears”, “The three little pigs”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “The naughty moon”, “The Penguin who felt cold a lot”, “Cinderella”, “Jack and the magic beans”, “The penguin” and “The ugly duckling”.
Here there are some sources, where you can find the stories to work on them. Especially, it is necessary to work on those which are not fairy tales, such as: “The naughty moon”, “the Penguin who felt cold a lot”, “Mulan and Hercules” and “The Penguin”.

This last one, “The penguin” is thanks to Ángela González and Carla Martin, two students from Colegio San Gregorio in Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia, Spain), who wrote and recorded this story, and also thanks to their teacher, @javiramossancha, who made it possible.

·        You can see “Mulan and Hercules”, “The naughty moon” and “The Penguin who felt cold a lot” on our blog:

·         You can see “Goldilocks and the three bears”, “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Jack and the magic beans” on:

·         You can see the fairy tale of “The three little pigs” on

·         You can see the fairy tale of “Cinderella” on http://www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/resources_ftp/client_ftp/ks1/english/story_telling/cinderella/cinderella1.htm

   5. Writing poetry. Get inspiration from an image. (By Pablo)
Encourage your students to find a picture that means something to them and tell them to write a poem about it. You can tell them to work in groups and if they are very young it does not need to rhyme at all. This technique is really useful to help children to find a topic to write about.
You can use paint or more sophisticated softwares like photoshop or gimp to tell them to write the text on the image as in the example you will find bellow.
